  • Cold Sensitivity: One of the most notable side effects of oxaliplatin is acute sensory neuropathy, which can be triggered or exacerbated by exposure to cold. Patients should be advised to avoid cold temperatures and cold objects, and to wear gloves when handling cold items.
  • Peripheral Neuropathy: Chronic peripheral neuropathy is a dose-limiting toxicity of oxaliplatin. It's important to monitor patients for symptoms like numbness, tingling, and pain in their hands and feet. Dose adjustments may be necessary if these symptoms become severe.
